Cut Short by Leigh Russell is now available again an Amazon after its second reprint in 6 months. I read the book some months ago and found it an excellent crime story featuring an interesting new detective - Geraldine Steel. I am also informed that the next book in the series will be out in June - title - Road Closed.

I am always interested to read new novels - especially crime - by new authors and I sometimes wonder whether people are too reluctant to try debut authors. I often become aware of new authors from reading Writing Magazine which I find to be a good source of different books.

- I'm 59 years old and have ambitions to be a writer. So far I have had several readers' letters published in a variety of magazines and one short story. Hi Jilly - thanks for mentioning CUT SHORT, and for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree, it is important for readers to try new authors. How else can new writers survive?
I agree - someone has to try new authors. I wonder whether e-books might mean people are more willing to try new authors?
I'm not sure why it would make a difference, as the cost is the same, isn't it? And it's quite easy to order paper books from home. But maybe e-books will appeal to younger people more than paper ones? (I wouldn't know!)
